INFLUENCE OF COMPENSATION ON JOB SATISFACTION AND PERFORMANCE OF ACADEMIC STAFF IN ADEYEMI FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION, ONDO

This study examined the influence of the compensation system on the job satisfaction and performance of lecturers in Adeyemi Federal University of Education in Ondo. The objectives of the study were to determine the influence of compensation on the job satisfaction and performance of academic staff. The research employed a descriptive survey design and used a simple random sampling technique to select respondents from the total population of academic staff. Data was collected through a questionnaire titled Influence of Compensation on Job Satisfaction and Performance of Academic Staff Questionnaire and analyzed using the mean statistical method. The analysis revealed that compensation does not have a significant positive influence on the job satisfaction and performance of academic staff at Adeyemi Federal University of Education in Ondo. The study recommended the need for an appropriate review of salaries and other financial benefits and emphasized the importance of regular payment of allowances and other incentives.
